Critical Response to Fahrenheit 451
Montag changes from the beginning to the end of the book. The way he changes is that he realizes how much literacy can have an effect on their society. He finally starts to come out of "the cave" that his society is referred to. His society is referred to as a "cave" because it is sort of like the allegory of the cave. The society is blinded, they do not realize the knowledge and the teachings a book can hold. Despite what the rules of his society say, he still decides to read books and explore what his society is forbidden from. The trigger of this change was his curiosity and his burning desire to learn. This is what I think.

Extra Credit
If I lived in the world of Fahrenheit 451 and I left the society to be a book person, I would choose to become the book 1984 by George Orwell. I would choose this book because every book person in the story seemed to be a historical text, and some fiction would be nice. Not only that, but the society in the book 1984 has certain similarities in regards to the the change in beliefs of the main character in Fahrenheit 451. I think it would be a good idea to memorize this book to give future generations an idea of what their society has become from past experience and also from books.

Changes
Over the course of our two month vacation I changed my attitude and my beliefs. A good friend of mine and I had an argument that caused me to change my perspective on many situations. we argued about how I constantly changed around different people at different times, and how I just couldn't be myself. I was changing sub-consciously because I felt it was normal to change say when you're with family and friends. I realized that it is normal but to a certain extent. It becomes bad to change around people when you are not able to express who you truly are just to fit in. That is exactly what I was doing. This argument was good for me because it opened my eyes and help me realize that people who don't except me for who and what I am are not worth my time. My friend was there for me and after our small argument we still carry on a relationship. It changed me because now I am myself when and wherever and I like that more, and the rest of my friends that truly know me also like it more.

Propaganda
In the words of a dictionary propaganda means ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause.
I have not distinguished the difference between persuasion and propaganda yet, therefore i will fail to post any examples for either one.

Equality
Equality means correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability in the words of the dictionary. Put into more simple terms equality means to be the same as someone or something according to your ability, looks, etc.
Equality is a significant value in a society because without equality people would feel either superior or inferior and would treat each other differently. For example, years ago African-Americans were seen as not equal to other races, specifically Caucasians, and were treated unfairly. They were slaves due to the color of their skin, and that made them unequal. When the law was passed that African-Americans were just as equal as Caucasians, they were to be treated like human beings. That paved the way for all human beings to be "equal" and obtain the same rights.
In my opinion true equality cannot be achieved because we as humans do not know the true meaning of equality. People say they want equality but it needs to be specified in what way. All people do not have the same opinions. I believe that as we are born into this world we are equal but as we grow and progress into adolescences we tend to develop our own opinions, morals, and ideas which classify us in the world.
